Minister of Culture

In this Cabinet position you are in charge of running events, promoting citizen activity, and making sure the history document stays updated. You can host gigantic games for the people to play, like Among Us games or Minecraft events, maybe host like a Movie Night or an online Cards Against Humanity game, or something else along those lines. I have conjured up a list of potential events in the Culture Event Planning Sheet (link in Useful Resources) that you can do to start off. The History Document is also in Useful Resources.

You should also make sure that your ministerial secretaries are doing their job and doing it well.

Your secretaries are:

  • The Director of Culture, whose duty is to help you plan out and organize events
  • The Director of Heritage, whose duty is to help you keep track of history and write formal analyses of it
You can pick and choose anyone in the Ministry to take either position. Just ask them if they want to take that position first, then let the Prime Minister know who you have chosen and they will make sure they are appointed. If no one is the Ministry wants a position, you can use the Opportunity List to find someone who's interested. If no one has indicated their interest in the position you need to fill, you can do a Union-wide search, by telegramming nations on NS and pinging citizens on Discord.

Director of Culture

Your job as Director of Culture is to basically help the Minister of Culture plan out events, come up with ideas, and do their job when the Minister of Culture is not available. That’s basically it.

Tips:
1. Don’t do the same events over and over, bring VARIETY to what you do
2. If you want an event to center around a particular game, make sure it is either free or enough people have it so it is something a lot of people can participate in
3. Consult with the Ministry in planning and choosing events
4. Contest winners should be decided by the club in the area of interest a contest is for (eg. the Culinary Association for a cooking contest) or by the citizens at large

Historians

Historians are people who help write history for Force, the states, and the territories. You will be responsible for making timelines of major Union events (elections and results, admittance of new regions, etc), as well as potentially covering specific events in more detail. If you have an idea for something you’d like to cover, just ask the Minister.

Tips:
1. If you are writing an in-depth history of a specific events, make sure to get multiple perspectives
2. If you are unsure about any particular dates, just ask the Ministry
