Minister of Media and Culture

In this Cabinet position you are in charge of The Force Flyer, running events, promoting citizen activity, and making sure the history document stays updated. You can host gigantic games for the people to play, like Among Us games or Minecraft events, maybe host like a Movie Night or an online Cards Against Humanity game, or something else along those lines. I have conjured up a list of potential events in the Culture Event Planning Sheet (link in Useful Resources) that you can do to start off. The History Document is also in Useful Resources.

You should also make sure that your ministerial secretaries are doing their job and doing it well.

Your secretaries are:

  • The Director of Culture, whose duty is to help you plan out and organize events
  • The Editor of the Force Flyer, who is in charge of writing Forceís monthly paper about the happenings in Force
You can pick and choose anyone in the Ministry to take either position. Just ask them if they want to take that position first, then let the Prime Minister know who you have chosen and they will make sure they are appointed. If no one is the Ministry wants a position, you can use the Opportunity List to find someone who's interested. If no one has indicated their interest in the position you need to fill, you can do a Union-wide search, by telegramming nations on NS and pinging citizens on Discord.

Editor of the Force Flyer

Hey, editor!
I heard you had some questions about doing your jobÖ Iím here to help!
Here are some guidelines that you should follow when writing The Force Flyer.

Formatting of the Flyer:
1. Use this COOL IMAGE at the top:

2. Try to maintain political neutrality when writing political stuff. Write out what happens, do not inject personal bias
3. After the COOL IMAGE on the top of the page, write the Issue number and the Headlines. The Headlines briefly go over the important stuff in the flyer, and are intended to draw people in to read it.
4. To give some ideas for content, maybe include news on some new legislation passing, courtroom drama, government position changes, some interviews, etc.
5. The Force Flyer is meant to have news about the region. Most of this news should be about political happenings, RP, and FA, but other stuff like the Force Unionís recipe of the month and maybe the Force Unionís Anime of the Month IS WELCOME TOO. Iím not really a big politics guy (I find it to be a little dull) so variation is needed.
6. At the bottom of the Flyer, make sure to credit the people who worked on it.
7. Also include statistics for Force, the states, and the territories. See this Example FF for details: https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=1472127.

General Information:
1. One Force Flyer should be published every month.
2. In this position you can ask for volunteers to help write the FF. Just like, contact the person you want to interview/consult for information and get rolling with that
3. In the case where someoneís being not specific with their information, tell them to be more specific :p

Tips:
1. Legal advice can be obtained from the Judiciary
2. The Minister of Media and Culture is ultimately the boss of the production of The Force Flyer
3. If The Editor and the Minister of Media and Culture are not on, contact your Columnists with any Media related questions

Director of Culture

Your job as Director of Culture is to basically help the Minister of Media and Culture plan out events, come up with ideas, and do their job when the Minister of Media and Culture is not available. Thatís basically it.

Tips:
1. Donít do the same events over and over, bring VARIETY to what you do
2. If you want an event to center around a particular game, make sure it is either free or enough people have it so it is something a lot of people can participate in
3. Consult with the Ministry in planning and choosing events
4. Contest winners should be decided by the club in the area of interest a contest is for (eg. the Culinary Association for a cooking contest) or by the citizens at large

Columnists

The columnists are people who help write articles for the Force Flyer. You can write articles about anything Force-related, including interviews with government officials, reporting on happenings in the RP, and articles about elections. Youíre also free to contribute stuff you have written, like freestyle writing and artwork.

Tips:
1. Keep articles to 500 words maximum if possible
2. Find an image that fits well as a header for your article
3. If you need any help, just ask in the Ministry channel
4. If you are writing about anything relating to regional politics, keep your tone neutral
5. Try to space out your writing so you donít end up doing it all the day before the FF is released

Historians

Historians are people who help write history for Force, the states, and the territories. You will be responsible for making timelines of major Union events (elections and results, admittance of new regions, etc), as well as potentially covering specific events in more detail. If you have an idea for something youíd like to cover, just ask the Minister.

Tips:
1. If you are writing an in-depth history of a specific events, make sure to get multiple perspectives
2. If you are unsure about any particular dates, just ask the Ministry
