Federal Elections

Stages:
1. Candidacy Announcements: 3 days
If you wish to run in an election, you must announce your candidacy in the appropriate thread during this stage.

2. Debate: 3 days
The debate is a period where all candidates are given questions to respond to related to the office they are running for. In some cases, these questions will be specifically designed for a particular candidate.

For candidates, participating in the debates is mandatory. If you fail to respond to debate questions asked to you by either the Founder or the Speaker of the House, you will automatically be disqualified. Providing a response which does not address the question asked is considered 'failing to respond', as is providing one word or incomplete answers.

3. Voting: 4 days
All voting must take place within this window. All voting is anonymous and held using a special program. You will be given a ballot number after voting which will let you change your ballot later in the voting period if you choose to and confirm that your ballot was counted when the official results are released.

There shall be a maximum of 12 hours between election stages. Stages may be shortened by up to 1 day if circumstances require it, but this shall be announced before the stage begins.

Dates:
1st of March, July, and November: Prime Minister, region-specific House of Representatives seats, and all Justices of the High Court.
1st of January, May, and September: Union-wide House of Representatives seats and all Justices of the High Court.
