House Bill X: The Simple English Act

Purpose: In order to improve the effectiveness and accountability of the public service by requiring their communications to be clear and accessible to the public.
Article 1: Definitions
1. "Simple English" is defined as language which the intended reader can easily understand after 1 reading, and follows the Simple English Wikipedia
guidelines.
2. "Government communication" is defined as any communication from the Federal House of Representatives or the Executive branch of the Federal government which is delivered to the public, unless said communication is already in Simple English.
3. "Office of the Copier" is defined as the author of this act, Battadia, and/or any other personnell whom he deems necessary.
Article 2: Regulations and procedure
1. All government communications must have a copy made that is written in Simple English.
2. In the event that the government official writing the communication is unwilling or unable to supply a Simple English copy of the Communication, they may request a copy from the Office of the Copier.
