Elections / Re: Debate: Union General Election, July 2022
« on: July 07, 2022, 05:30:55 pm »
1. Which House Bills do you plan to pass and/or repeal? Why?
The current bills I would like to pass are not exactly decided but I do have some ideas. Firstly, I would like to pass a bill setting up an official Force calendar with the official recognized holidays in order to help the government for the holding of future events. Here in Force, we have some recognized holidays such as Founders Day and Cheese Day but they do not seem to do anything as everyone seems to forget them. With this official calendar, we could have some official recess time for the government around certain events such as in the time of the holidays.

2. In what ways should the Constitution be amended, if at all? Explain how the changes would improve the current system of governance.
We should focus on fixing the current loopholes in the Constitution, apart from that I do not see anything important.

3. What qualifies you to serve in the House? What makes this qualifying?
I am one of the longest-serving house members and have been representing RGBN in the Union for more than a year. I've been Speaker of the House multiple times as well as being PM of Force and President of RGBN. I'm not the best at wrting bills but I have been the co-author of many legislations.

4. Do you think any changes should be made to existing House Procedures? If so, what changes should be made and why?
I think that once we get back a good amount of members in the House again, procedures will go more smoothly.

5. If elected, do you plan on running for Speaker? If so, what makes you a good candidate for this position and if not, who do you think would be a better candidate?
No.

6. How do you plan to ensure the voices of your constituents are heard while in office?
I am always open to be contacted even if I sometimes might seem dead I'm actually still here. I tend to always answer my messages and if any person from RGBN would like to pass a bill. I will gladly present it to the House of Representatives. Though that does not mean I support it, I will at least insure the proposed bill will be seen by my colleagues as it is my duty for RGBN.

7. How do you feel about the influence parties have on the House and electoral process, and should it be more or less? Explain your answer fully.
Parties are pretty much dead right now, they might have another renaissance in the future but as of right now I do not think they influence the House that much. Most House politics are decided by different factions which have developed independently from the parties. Though I do believe that even those factions do not hold too much power in the House.

8. The House of Representatives is the sole legal body with the ability to remove a Prime Minister from office. Under what circumstances would you support the removal of one and what constitutes 'going too far'? Cite specific legal passages if necessary and ensure that your answer is sufficiently detailed.
I'll repeat what I said time and time again. I think that the Prime Minister should only be impeached when he is either going up directly against the will of the people in a striking manner or his administration is not able to conduct their job properly anymore. I do believe that the House of Representatives should have the right to start the impeachment procedures against the PM as they represent the people of the Union but only the people directly should be able to impeach him and decide of the fate of THEIR leader.

4. Do you think any changes should be made to existing House Procedures? If so, what changes should be made and why?
No idea that comes to mind really. The House has seen a betterment in activity but I think we can do better.

5. If elected, do you plan on running for Speaker? If so, what makes you a good candidate for this position and if not, who do you think would be a better candidate?
I am always ready to take on the position and responsibilities if need be but I am not planning as of now to be running for the position. I will only do it if no one else is fit to.

6. How do you plan to ensure the voices of your constituents are heard while in office?

Also, I think the House should pass legislation to better supervise party membership and the legal frame of party expulsions and other such moves.

2. In what ways should the Constitution be amended, if at all? Explain how the changes would improve the current system of governance.
I think the Constitution is currently fine as it is and we should be working on fixing the current loopholes it has.

3. What qualifies you to serve in the House? What makes this qualifying?
I've been one of the longest-serving members of the House, I've once been Speaker, Prime Minister, Minister and other such positions. I'm not a newbie to Force politics and though I'm not the best bill writer, I have helped many fellow representatives write their own bills.

4. Do you think any changes should be made to existing House Procedures? If so, what changes should be made and why?
The House should be more active, I know I'm also part of the problem but I hope the next Speaker will be able to fix this issue together with all the members including me.

5. If elected, do you plan on running for Speaker? If so, what makes you a good candidate for this position and if not, who do you think would be a better candidate?
No, I can always take on the role if needed but I know some other representatives are more interested in this position then me and as such would be more invested. I leave it to them unless I feel they are incompetent.

6. How do you plan to ensure the voices of your constituents are heard while in office?
I am always open to be contacted even if I sometimes might seem dead I'm actually still here. I tend to always answer my messages and if any person from RGBN would like to pass a bill. 1. Which House Bills do you plan to pass and/or repeal? Why?
I have none that come to mind, I'm mostly here to fill in to ensure the people of RGBN have enough representatives in the House. Though I'm always open to new suggestions.

2. In what ways should the Constitution be amended, if at all? Explain how the changes would improve the current system of governance.
I cannot think of any amendment as of right now but I fully believe the Constitution can still be amended to mend some flaws.

3. What qualifies you to serve in the House? What makes this qualifying?
I have been an active House Representative for more than a year now, I have also once been House Speaker for a bit. I have a long history in the government of Force and that includes the legislative.

4. Do you think any changes should be made to existing House Procedures? If so, what changes should be made and why?
Not as of right now, our only concern should be to get the House to be more active and organize more discussions. Though it has been better as of now than it was a little while ago.

5. If elected, do you plan on running for Speaker? If so, what makes you a good candidate for this position and if not, who do you think would be a better candidate?
No. I'm fine with pretty much anyone being the Speaker of the House as long they have the time and will to run the House and all its procedures. In an unbiased way of course.

6. How do you plan to ensure the voices of your constituents are heard while in office?
If a constituent of RGBN wants to pass a law, they only have to get in contact with me through discord or NS and I will make sure that it gets proposed into the House. Obviously, I cannot say I will endorse it but I will ensure that the other representatives will have heard of it in order to see if it has a chance to pass.

7. How do you feel about the influence parties have on the House and electoral process, and should it be more or less? Explain your answer fully.
Parties are irrelevant as of now, factions are more what controls Force politics these days and change pretty much each week. Though I think we should let partisan politics behind to truly represent our people's will.

8. The House of Representatives is the sole legal body with the ability to remove a Prime Minister from office with citizens vote after confirming it. Under what circumstances would you support the removal of one and what constitutes 'going too far'? Cite specific legal passages if necessary and ensure that your answer is sufficiently detailed.
I think that the Prime Minister should only be impeached when he is either going up directly against the will of the people or his administration is not able to conduct his job properly anymore.
